A WOMAN'S PERSPECTIVE
Modifications by Lisa - a wife, mother of a teenage daughter,
and stepmother of two sons
.

She and her husband frequently entertain family, friends and business associates, and her children often have their friends over.

At Lisa's request, Design Basics' designers made the following changes:

  1. Squared off the back of the home enlarging the kitchen, its island and the eating area.
  2. Changed the existing laundry room into a mud room with a seat, lockers and a drop zone (an organized spot to leave keys, briefcases, mail and laptops).
  3. Turned the dining room into a family activity room with a washer and dryer, a sink and plenty of counter space for working on hobbies and playing computer games.
  4. Added a bath to Bedroom 2 to give Lisa’s daughter some privacy.
