Homeowner’s Profile: Julie and her
husband are retired empty nesters. They host card parties,
do a lot of craft projects, baby-sit their two grandchildren
part-time and occasionally have out-of-town guests.

Modifications Julie made to the Kirby, #3260:
- Moved the laundry closer to the master suite and enlarged
it to create a family activity center for their many craft
projects.
- Opened up the kitchen and added an island with an angled
snack bar.
- Moved the stairs to the basement, retaining the art niches
for their prized collections.
- Improved the service entry with a large walk-in closet
and a drop zone (an organized spot to leave keys, mail and
cell phones).
