A WOMAN'S PERSPECTIVE - HOME PLAN

A WOMAN'S PERSPECTIVE
Modifications by Joni, a stay-at-home mother of two

  1. Moved the see-thru fireplace to an outside wall - and squared off the back corner to open up the living spaces and enlarge the island.
  2. Converted the former laundry room to a mud room - with lockers, storage and a drop zone.
  3. Changed the formal living room into a cozy den.
  4. Turned the former dining room into a family studio room - accommodating various activities: laundry, crafts, sewing and planning -- with computer access for main level homework or projects.
  5. Added a coffee/beverage bar to the master bedroom - Enlarged and raised windows to brighten the area and accommodate furniture placement.
  6. Turned the front bedroom into a media room - that overlooks the entry. (A stow-away bed will be brought into that space for occasional guests.)
